This Bowie Knife was made from a billet of 200 fold fire storm Damascus and was ground to the shape you see, the knife was heat treated, quenched, tempered than acid etched to bring out the Damascus pattern, the Rockwell on this one is right at 58 for hardness, blade is 8-1/8″ inches long by 1-3/4″ inches at the wide point, handle is 5-1/2″ inches from front of guard to longest point of pommel, all the fittings are made from flat bar stock Damascus, Brass for the file worked spacers and copper liners on each side, The handle is Musk Ox horn with Resin dyed to match the horn, all the fittings where made by me here in the shop, even the little Damascus handle take down tool, there is no glue in this knife so by taking the little take down tool and removing the Damascus pommel nut the whole knife can come apart, all pieces are numbered to help reassemble the knife, than just snug the pommel nut back down and the knife is complete, I did hand file work on the brass spacers in my sharp thorn pattern and the top of the blade in my Bat Wing pattern, doing a take down knife of any kind takes lots of planning to get things right, the leather sheath was made in the shop as well to fit nice and tight to the knife, so as you can see there is a lot of work that went into this Bowie to make it a true one of a kind, all done by hand with no fancy machines, Knife will come with a thumb Drive COA telling more about the knife and a custom knife zip up storage pouch for keeping your custom Bowie knife safe.
