This great looking drop point hunting knife is made with a piece of Robert Calcinore mosaic damascus composed of 1095,1080, O1, Mild steel and nickel steel, Robert makes some of the best stuff on the market and you can see why it sells out fast when you see how nice a blade this stuff makes, The billet was hand ground, polished acid etched oil quenched hardened and tempered to a rockwell of 57 a blade with this many steels in the mix will not have a rockwell the complete length of the cutting edge as some of the softer steels will meet at the edge causing a softer cutting edge, whats all this mean, You may have to tuch up the cutting edge if your giving it some use in the field, Thats all, Back to the knife, this one is 7-3/4″ inches overall with a 3-3/4″ inch blade by 1-1/4″ inch wide and 1/8″ inch thick. The handle is made from stabilized russian bog oak that is over 2,000 years old with two mammoth tooth spacers tht are aslo dyed and stabilized, The mammoth tooth was found in the perma frost region of siberia russia and will date from 12,000 to 20,000 years old, The knife is a rat tang construction with a corby nut in the end, the handle also has solid brass and copper spacers, guard and pommel all made from flat bar and sheet stock and shaped by hand to the knife, I also hand filed the top of the blade in my “sharp thorn” pattern for the extra look, all my file work is done by hand with a chain saw file and a half round file, so you can see I put a lot of time into every knife for fit and finish to make them a collectible piece of art or something to take out in the field and give it some use, all my knives will last many lifetimes and can be enjoyed for many generation to come, knife comes with the custom knife sheath made by Carl thomas of Mississippi, Your custom knife will ship in a knife storage case for when your custom knife is not in use, Shipping is $6.00 for priority mail with insurance.
