This Custom bowie knife was one a made over 10 years ago and have had it in my personal collection all this time, Now it’s time to let someone else enjoy this great looking knife. This knife was made from a 400 plus fold bar stock damascus billet. The knife billets are shaped, ground, polished, oil quenced hardened and tempered to rockwell 58, then acid etched to help bring out the damascus pattern, then gun blued and given one final polish. Knife is 12-7/8″ inches over all with a 8″ inch blade with a 7-1/4″ inch cutting edge, 1-1/4″ inch wide and3/16″ inch thick. This custom bowie knife has it all, Exhibition grade Mammoth tooth fossil And lots of custom file work. I put a solid brass guard on this one with lots of file work done in my “vine” Pattern to match the handle and blade file work, The top of the blade has been hand filed in my “Vine” pattern and the handle as well. The mammoth tooth used is from the perma frost area in Siberia Russia and it will date from 30,000 to 50,000 years old, It has been deep stabilized and lightly dyed for a one of a kind look, This blade has a false grind for over half of the top and it is also a tapered tang as well, The damascus used was a 400 plus fold random wave pattern this one is an oldie but a goodie, I hate to see it go but it’s time. great looking bowie made in some of my first years as a knife maker, so it’s not perfect but pretty darn close. The custom bowie will come with the custom sheath and a custom zip up knife case to store your knife in, all my custom knives come with a hand signed coa and dvd telling more about the knife as well.
