This custom knife is a MAB Loveless style drop point knife, This one has it all, The custom knife is a true tapered tang made from S30V stainless steel, The knife was hand ground from bar stock, Then polished, oil quenched hardened And tempered to a Rockwell hardness of 59. The handle on this one is made from The handle on this one is made from stabilized Banksia pod filled with emerald green resin. I used two custom brass pins and one copper pin in the handles and two more custom pins in the guards, The knife will come alive outside in the sun… The knife guard and spacers were made from solid brass bar and sheet stock and shaped to the handle by hand. I also had filed the top of the blade with my “vine” pattern and the top of the handle in my “double wave” pattern All done by hand with a chain saw file and a small triangle file. I used two custom brass pins in the handles, The knife will come alive outside in the sun… The knife guard and spacers were made from solid brass bar and sheet stock and shaped to the handle by hand. The knife is 8-1/4″ inches overall with a 3-7/8″ inch blade with a 3-1/2″ inch cutting edge, and 1-1/8″ inches wide and a rugged 3/16″ inch thick, The custom knife handle tapers down to 1/16″ inch thick making for a great look, The custom brass guard and spacers are made from sheet and bar stock and shaped by hand to the knife for a perfect fit and finish. I then put some file work to make this a real custom knife, The file works starts with my “Walking Lizard” pattern going down the blade and my “Sharp Thorn” pattern going the hole way down the tapered handle. All my file work is done by hand with a chainsaw file and a half round file, “Not” with a dremel tool like some knife builders call file work. The custom knife was hand sanded from 220 grit to 2,000 grit to put a mirror finish on the blade and handle then put on the buffing wheel for a final shine, The custom knife sheath was made by Carl Thomas of Mississippi to make for a perfect fit, So as you can see I put a lot of time into this custom knife from the fit and finish to the file work to make this a collectors investment piece or a everyday user to pass down to future generations to enjoy, This one will be the knife to enjoy the top spot in your knife collection.
