This great looking custom Tanto knife has a 1084 steel blade with Stabilized and dyed Amboyna Burl Wood Handles and custom Sia, This one is a first for the shop, I have made smaller versions of this style but never a full size tanto with a custom sia to fit the knife, All in all it came out just great for anyone looking for a stylish tanto to show off. The knife handle melts in your hand with it’s semi round shape and finish. The custom tanto knife is 12″9 inches overall with a 7″ inch blade to the guard making for a 6-1/2 inch cutting edge, Blade is 3/16 thick and 1-1/8″ inch wide. This custom tanto knife was made from 1084 bar stock billet. The knife billet was shaped, ground, polished, oil quenched hardened and tempered to Rockwell 58, Then worked to a high mirror polish by hand then given one final polish. The brass guards and spacers are made from brass bar and sheet stock and shaped to the knife by hand,The Knife is a full tang construction so it will hold up if you decide to give it some use. the guards have two custom brass and copper pins and the handles have Three Copper pins, I also hand file the top of the blade in my “Bat Wing” pattern and the handle in my “Triple Wave” Pattern, All my file work is done by hand with a round file and a half round file, NO dremel tool here. The knife was hand sanded from 220 grit to 2,000 grit for a mirror finish on the handle, blade and sheath, any imperfections you see on the blade in the photos is the sky and clouds reflecting in the mirror finish, Your custom knife will come with a hand signed coa telling more about the custom knife and a DVD showing you around the shop.
