This custom knife is a Rebuild of a great M4 bayonet 2nd Production from 1954 to sometime in he 1960’s. I removed the plastic handles and dis-assembled the knife, I then Rebuilt the knife with custom Red stag handle with finger groves and aluminum and brass spacers, I also lightly reground the blade to get the cutting edge straight as it had been over sharpened, I did not take all of the scares or deep pits out of the blade so it still has a story to tell, I hand filed the top of the blade in my “Double Wave” Pattern all done by hand with a half round file and a flat file, Knife is 11-3/8 overall with a 6-1/2 inch blade with a false grind top section and is 13/16″ wide, I dont have a M1 carbine to try this one on so assume it wont fit and be happy when it does, I did not change anything in the length or the ring guard so it should slip right on a M1 carbine, I polished the knife and sharpen the blade and used silver solder to fill in the gap at the blade and guard due to the factory leaving a pretty big gap, so this special piece is ready to show off.
