This custom knife is a MAB style drop point knife, This one has it all, The custom knife is made from S30V stainless steel, The knife was hand ground from bar stock, Then polished, oil quenched hardened And tempered to a Rockwell hardness of 59. The handle on this custom knife is made from Texas prickly pear cactus, (Opuntia lindheimeri Engelm. var. lindheimeri) The state plant of Texas. Portions of the cactus are painstakingly harvested, processed and cast in urethane resin to make the custom knife scales. I also used two custom pins in the handle to match the cactus colors. The knife is 7-1/2″ inches overall with a 3-1/2″ inch blade with a 3-3/16″ inch cutting edge, and 15/16″ inches wide and 1/8″ inch thick, The custom brass guard and spacers are made from sheet and bar stock and shaped by hand to the knife for a perfect fit and finish. I then put some file work to make this a real custom knife, The file work on the blade is called “Sharp Thorn” A geat looking pattern going down the blade. All my file work is done by hand with a chainsaw file and a half round file, “Not” with a dremel tool like some knife builders call file work. The custom knife was hand sanded from 220 grit to 2,000 grit to put a mirror finish on the blade and handle then put on the buffing wheel for a final shine, The custom knife sheath was made by Carl Thomas of Mississippi to make for a perfect fit, Visit him at http://www.carlthomasknifesheaths.com/. So as you can see I put a lot of time into this custom knife from the fit and finish to the file work to make this a collectors investment piece or a everyday user to pass down to future generations to enjoy, This one will be the knife to enjoy the top spot in your knife collection. All my custom knives come with a hand signed COA and a DVD telling more about the knife and shop. Knife will ship priority mail with insurance and signature conformation for a flat rate of $6.00 sorry no international shipping
