This custom MAB knife is made by me, Mark Buzzell, right here in Carmel Maine. This little San Mia damascus drop point hunting knife damascus blade is 70 layers of 15n20 and 1095 over a VG10 steel core. The knife is 7 inches overall with a 3-1/4 inch blade, 7/8 inch wide and just under 1/8 inch thick. The kife blade is stamped with my MAB logo as the maker of this fine knife. This knife was made from a bar stock damascus San Mia billet. The knife billet was shaped, ground, polished, acid etched, oil quenced, hardened and tempered to rockwell 59 and then given one final polish all done by me. The handles on this one have some stabilized exhibition grade Australian Horistes burl with some great looking burl. The knife has a solid brass guards with brass spacers all are made from flat brass bar and sheet stock and shaped by hand to fit your custom knife. both the knife guards and the handles have custom pins made right here in the shop as well for the added touch. This little hunting knife is a full tang contruction so it will hold up in the field if you decide to give it some use. I also hand filed the top of the blade in my “sharp thorn” pattern, all my file work is done by hand with a chainsaw file and a small triangle file, not with a dremel tool like some knife builders like to call extensive file work!!!! Give me a break, I put a lot of time into every one of my knives from fit to finish and the file work, so every knife can be a collectors piece or a working knife.
