Well, it’s another custom MAB made by me, Mark Buzzell, right here in Maine. It’s a damascus drop point hunting knife. The damascus blade is a 400 plus fold random rain drop pattern damasucs steel. The knife is 9 inches overall with a 4-1/4 inch blade, 1-3/16 inch wide and just over 3/16 inch thick. The kife blade is stamped with my MAB logo as the maker of this fine knife. This knife was made from a bar stock damascus billet. The knife billet was shaped, ground, polished, oil quenced, hardened and tempered to rockwell 58, then acid etched to help bring out the damascus pattern then gun blued and given one final polish all done by me. The handles on this one have some exhibition grade Australian coolibah burl with some great looking burl “wow”. The knife has a solid nickle guard and solid nickle pommel. I used nickle silver spacers at each end as well. The knife is a rat tang construction with a corby nut in the end so it will hold up in the field if you decide to give it some use. I also hand filed the top of the blade in my “double wave” pattern, all my file work is done by hand with a chainsaw file and a small triangle file, not with a dremel tool like some knife builders like to call extensive file work!!!! Give me a break, I put a lot of time into every one of my knives from fitting and finish to the file work, so every knife can be a collectors piece or a working knife.
