This great looking custom Tanto knife has a dark twist Damascus blade with Warthog Tusk Ivory and Arazona desert iron wood burl for the handle, This one is a first for the shop, I have made smaller versions of this style but never a full size tanto, All in all it came out just great for anyone looking for a stylish tanto to show off. The knife handle melts in your hand with it’s semi round shape and finish. The custom tanto knife is 9-1/4 inches overall with a 5″ inch blade to the guard making for a 4-5/8 inch cutting edge, Blade is just under 3/16 thick and 3/4″ inch wide. This custom tanto knife was made from bar stock 200 plus fold twist pattern damascus billet. The knife billet was shaped, ground, polished, oil quenced hardened and tempered to rockwell 58, Then acid etched to help bring out the damascus pattern, Then gun blued and given one final polish. The brass guard, pommel and spacers are made from bar and sheet stock and shaped to the knife by hand,The Knife is a rat tang construction with a corby nut in the end so it will hold up if you decide to give it some use in the field. I also hand file the top of the blade in my “Sharp Thorn” pattern, All my file work is done by hand with a round file and a half round file, NO dremel tool here. The knife was hand sanded from 220 grit to 2,000 grit for a mirror finish on the handle, The custom sheath was made by Carl Thomas of Mississippi. Your custom knife will come with a hand signed coa telling more about the custom knife and a dvd showing you around the shop.
